Plettenberg's Gardens

Werder, Germany, on the bank of the river Havel

On the historical site of the former brewery "Lerch & Plettenberg", adjacent to the Werder orchards of the Hohe Weg, a modern residential location is being created. Plettenberg's Garden perfectly combines the advantages of rural tranquility and the amenities of urban living.

The project is to create a new residential complex with a total of 23 apartments, 2 maisonettes and 5 private homes in the midst of flowering orchards. Plettenberg's Garden aims to bring the history of the property to life by combining modern style of architecture with historical elements, such as the clinker facades typical of Werder and the surrounding area.

A place with history

The attractive, idyllic Havelstadt, about 35 km from Berlin, is surrounded by the Havel lakes: Schwielowsee, Glindower See, Großer Plessower See and Großer Zernsee. The historic old town of Werder - "land surrounded by water" lies in the midst of the approximately 700- 1,400m wide Havel and gave the city its name.

Due to the connection to the federal highway 1 as well as the highways A10 (Berliner Ring), Werder is optimally networked with the metropolitan area of Berlin. In addition, Berlin can be reached in 30 minutes and Potsdam in 10 minutes by regional train.

Werder's population has grown steadily over the past few years. The municipality currently covers approximately 116 square kilometers and houses more than 23,000 inhabitants. It has established itself as a dynamic business location and has a good infrastructure. In addition to public facilities such as kindergarten schools and medical facilities are other educational institutions, numerous sports and recreational facilities available.

As a state-approved health resort, the city attracts many seekers of recreation every year and has a lot to offer tourists. Gastronomy, hotels and holiday apartments offer something for every taste. Every year at the end of April, hundreds of thousands of guests celebrate the "Baumblütenfest" with the people of Werder, one of the most popular and largest societies in Germany.
